Mechanical Coordination

HVAC modifications, ductwork, mechanical room upgrades, and coordination with sub-trades for complete mechanical systems.

Mechanical systems are the most complex and costly element of most commercial construction projects. Homeland provides mechanical coordination services that manage HVAC modifications, ductwork, and mechanical system integration across the GTA.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you employ mechanical trades directly?

We coordinate mechanical work through specialized sub-trades (HVAC, plumbing, fire protection). As the general contractor, we manage design coordination, scheduling, quality control, and integration with other building systems. This gives you one point of accountability for the entire project.

Can you modify existing HVAC systems for new tenant layouts?

Yes. Most tenant improvements require HVAC modifications to serve new room layouts. We coordinate duct extensions, add or relocate VAV boxes, install new thermostats, and arrange air balancing to ensure proper temperature control in the reconfigured space.

What's involved in testing and balancing?

After mechanical installation, a certified TAB (Testing, Adjusting, and Balancing) contractor measures and adjusts air flow at every diffuser and return to ensure proper distribution. We coordinate TAB as part of our mechanical scope and provide the TAB report for building records.
